Ariel Magazine: Submissions

Ariel publishes student submissions of art and literature and distributes them to alumni, parents, businesses, faculty, staff, and the rest of the study body--anyone who wants a magazine! We encourage students to submit and have even had faculty submissions. Not all works that are submitted are accepted; each work is subject to anonymous peer review--the reviewers do not know and do not consider the identity of the creators.

We accept fiction and non-fiction stories and scans or digital photographs of visual artworks, including photographs, paintings, sketches, and digital art. We do not as of this time take essays or articles. Our policy on plaigerism is don't; if you quote, mimic, or base your submission off of the work of another author or artist, accredit them in the information you send to Ariel.

Ariel also occasionally holds contests for prizes. The last contest was for essays on pop culture with a prize of $100.

The current deadline for submissions has been extended to Wednesday, March 1st. If you are interested in submitting to Ariel, please email us at ariel@wlu.edu. If you have any questions on submissions, email Rebecca Grant at grantr[at]wlu.edu or Paige Halter at halterp[at]wlu.edu.

The magazine is printed in color on glossy, (?) pound paper, and bound at the spine. It typically runs to about (?) pages long.
